About us

The RHN is a charity, independent from the NHS but working closely with it, to provide the best possible care for people living with neuro-disability.

The RHN is no ordinary charity hospital. We care for people who have complex brain injuries, who need assessment and intensive rehabilitation.

So many factors combine to make us special, from our staff to the additional therapies we offer, and our custom wheelchair service. Some of our patients and residents also require long-term care for conditions such as Huntington’s disease and prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC). Our specialist services include a Long-term ventilation service and a Neuro-behavioural service.

We help those with the most complex of health needs and disabilities, this includes people with a degenerative or progressive conditions. The patients we support usually have complex physical challenges alongside their neuro-disability. We also care for people as they approach the end of their life.

Who we are

We don’t just treat people with profound disabilities, we care for them as individuals, creating care plans that resonate with them on a personal level, and offering practical and emotional support to them and their families every step of their journey.

Heritage

The RHN has a unique and fascinating history and we are committed to preserving our heritage for patients, staff and the wider community.
